Last weekend we had Kalmar Södra, a football club from south east of Sweden visiting our camp. Had some joint sessions and we played matches against them. Great fun for both players and coaches.

Risky business?

I was reading Apple's Q1 report and it's a great report. Apple is doing so well, no clouds in the sky in their world... or is it?
If I read correctly, iPhone and iPad is approx 80% of their incomes. Two products stands for more than 4/5 of their turnover. What happens if their next launch in one of these categories is turned down by the market?

Not too many years ago Motorola was unbeatable with RaZr, Nokia had their era with 3210, 3310 etc, Blackberry was all corporate clients darling for a number of years etc... They all have in common that they have had their place in the sun, and then someone came and took their place...

Samsung's and Apple's unit sales grew, while Nokia, RIM and HTC struggled, according to IDC

The worldwide smartphone market grew 42.5 percent year-over-year during the first quarter, as Samsung Electronics overtook Apple for the smartphone leadership position, according to IDC's estimates.

Vendors shipped 144.9 million smartphones during the first three months of 2012 compared to 101.7 million in the same period last year, the market research company said.

Samsung sold 42.2 million smartphones, which is a new record, while Apple sold 35.1 million during the first quarter. That means about every second smartphone sold across the world came from either Samsung or Apple.
